Two Ways to Save
Ask in natural language
Tell BibGenie: "Save the summary above as a note for this paper."
Use the button
Click Save as Note on the last assistant message to save the latest response.
Supported Content
BibGenie converts Markdown / HTML content into Zotero notes. Common supported content includes:
- Headings and paragraphs
- Ordered and unordered lists
- Mathematical formulas
- Code blocks
- Tables
- Citations and links
- Bold text and inline code
Formatting may be simplified
Zotero notes have their own editor and HTML support. Most common formats work well, but very complex Markdown or custom HTML may be simplified.
Parent Item Logic
When saving a note, BibGenie places it in the most appropriate location it can determine.
| Input | Result |
|---|---|
| Regular item specified | Creates a child note under that item |
| PDF attachment specified | Finds the attachment's regular parent item when possible and attaches the note there |
| Child note specified | Finds the child note's regular parent item when possible and attaches the note there |
| No parent specified | Creates a standalone note |
| Parent and collection both specified | The collection is ignored because Zotero child notes inherit collection membership from their parent item |
Examples
